Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Arabic/English Translator to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication within our organisation. The Translator will primarily focus on translating materials from English to Arabic and Arabic to English. This role is essential for maintaining accurate and clear communication across our diverse audience and stakeholders.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English, with strong writing and translation skills.
- Proven experience in translating technical documents, guidelines, or onboarding materials.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate translations.
- Familiarity with humanitarian aid or nonprofit terminology is a plus.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Translate a variety of documents, including guidelines, manuals, and onboarding materials, from English to Arabic and Arabic to English, while maintaining the original meaning and context.
- Ensure that translations are clear, accurate, and culturally sensitive.
- Collaborate with the content creators and subject matter experts to clarify any ambiguities or technical terms.
- Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure linguistic quality.
- Manage translation projects, track progress, and meet deadlines.
- Maintain translation memory and terminology databases to enhance consistency.
- Assist in the development of a style guide for consistent translation practices.
Deliverables:
- Accurate and well-crafted translations of guidelines and onboarding documents in both English and Arabic.
- Consistency in terminology and style across translated materials.
- Effective communication of important information to diverse audiences.
- Timely completion of translation projects.
